Outside of the Box You’re off and running When your feet hit the ground Stretching the distance Approaching the questions From different directions Breaking away, from the mundane Shaping the course, of we convey A beacon of light, in critical times Paves the way, for the answers we crave You’re moving forward Down an uncharted course with laser focus Relying on knowledge Taught from life’s lessons Experience gained From a life of mistakes Eases the tension Ideas are presented From their conception…Yeah Chorus See what the mind it will unlock When you’re thinking outside of the box What will remain retained in your thoughts When you’re thinking, When you are thinking Outside of the box An incarnation as a theory takes shape And resurrected to make a connection And displayed for reflection Left in the hands of its critics and peers To be accepted or rejected Will it carry its weight Chorus Oooh oooh oooh …. Yeah Chorus

Time Waits for No Man Given are uncertainties There are no real guarantees Only possibilities Presented to you with the gift of life We forge ahead and carry on Indulge ourselves, inherit flaws Protect ourselves by building walls Develop who we are from deep within From deep within So, fill in the pages and capture the changes Preserve them in your book of life Live in the moment, give into the notion That every living thing expires Go from being complacent to feeling elated Just follow what your heart desires Time waits for no man Continuous motion presides Chorus Time waits for no man Once lost or once taken It’s gone within the blink of an eye No excuses, no regrets Take action don’t forfeit Focus on present Not future or past And live every moment As if it were your last All cards are dealt All hands are played A legacy will begin today As the bond of love will Outlive the heart after it’s gone After it’s gone So, fill in the pages and capture the changes Preserve them in your book of life Live in the moment, give into the notion That every living thing expires Go from being complacent to feeling elated Just follow what your heart desires Time waits for no man Continuous motion presides Chorus Time waits for no man Once lost or once taken It’s gone within the blink of an eye No excuses, no regrets Take action don’t forfeit Focus on present Not future or past And live every moment As if it were your last Live every moment As if it were your last Live every moment As if it were your last Live every moment As if it were your last

Cold Nights Early November Bright light, somewhere in my mind Disguise, left it far behind Headlong, into the unknown Following the beckoning Of life as it unfolds The only true liberty That's what I've been told Lies in the novelty Of how I view reality Or am I a child of destiny Chorus Cold nights early November Brings insights to light up the embers With winters knocking at the door I find myself at a crossroad To understand life Not how I remember In the fleeting aftermath Of walking down that beaten path It may appear safe and secure But anytime the tide may turn And get harder to endure We focus all our energies In looking for a cure A moment of clarity Emerges from reality That we are the child of destiny Chorus Cold nights early November Brings insights to light up the embers With winters knocking at the door I find myself at a crossroad To understand life Not how I remember We learn about ourselves through our sacrifice We learn about the world from each other's eyes

Dorado 1943 08:20
Dorado 1943 Pristine with resolve, her keel was laid down Commissioned to fight for the cause A mission detailed, about to set sail The crew is ready to launch Dorado slips under the water side Immersing itself in the sea Bearing a curse, a future unforeseen A future unforeseen And like so many times before It is the casualties of war That remind us that the price of freedom’s never ever free Chorus Beneath the waves submariners risk their lives Isolation within tight confines Out at sea, within the deep removed from night and day This sacrifice the submariner way Beneath the waves submariners take to the sea Performing tasks remaining silently Sonar pings, echoing, help them guide their way And navigate the submariner way Panama bound. nowhere to be found Never reaching its port A search it ensues, looking for clues Dorado appears to be lost Dorado slipped under the water side Immersing itself in the sea Bearing a curse, a future unforeseen A future unforeseen And like so many times before It is the casualties of war That remind us that the price of freedom’s never ever free Chorus Beneath the waves submariners risk their lives Isolation within tight confines Out at sea, within the deep removed from night and day This sacrifice the submariner way Beneath the waves submariners take to the sea Performing tasks remaining silently Sonar pings, echoing, help them guide their way And navigate the submariner way Dorado’s whereabouts unknown Sailors not returning home A ghost ship still on its patrol Sailors never coming home (never coming home) Families left to face their fears (never coming home) Salt the ocean with their tears (never coming home) Never coming home Home

Still, It Goes On A new dawn rises, spreading its light across land leaving behind the shadows that yesterday cast and marking the end of an era not meant to last The passion and pride locked up inside of you Once was so easily placed on display Now what remains are faded out memories Growing in size in a cancerous state Chorus (Still, it goes on) with absolute certainty as if nothing has changed an absence is present but the whole still remains (Still, it goes on) a mountain of questions with its answers displaced the scars and the memories but the whole still remains Retrace the images left In your mind …Mmmm Perception, a story that’s told From one side ….Yeah And all that is left Shall remain in the past The passion and pride locked up inside of you Once was so easily placed on display Now what remains are faded out memories Growing in size in a cancerous state Chorus (Still, it goes on) with absolute certainty as if nothing has changed an absence is present but the whole still remains (Still, it goes on) a mountain of questions with its answers displaced the scars and the memories but the whole still remains Still, it goes on Still, it goes on Still, it goes on But the whole still remains Still, it goes on Still, it goes on Still, it goes on But the whole still remains Chorus (Still, it goes on) with absolute certainty as if nothing has changed an absence is present but the whole still remains (Still, it goes on) a mountain of questions with its answers displaced the scars and the memories but the whole still remains Still, it goes on Still, it goes on Still, it goes on But the whole still remains Still, it goes on Still, it goes on Still, it goes on But the whole still remains

Narrow Mind 06:59
Narrow Mind A mind that is only inclined To seek and divide Keep only just what it needs To feel gratified Reject everything That comes on the way Of its foolish pride But in the end still remains Unsatisfied Play with me Inside my narrow mind Secrets cover my skin Darkness lies deeper within The weight of the world, endless desires Keep me alive by feeding the fire Lifeless, a slave to the grind A cold heart, a narrow mind A mind that is only inclined To seek and divide Keep only just what it needs To feel gratified Reject everything That comes on the way Of its foolish pride But in the end still remains Unsatisfied Chorus Come with me Stay with me Play with me Inside my narrow mind Sing with me Sway with me Pray with me Lest I go colorblind Blue skies, wide open road Life is still stuck in a hole Sunrise will help me to find A way out of my narrow mind Do I even long to be free I need to ask in all honesty Soon I'll be carried along Well past my prime Like a broken, delirious song Without a rhythm or rhyme In front of my eyes The promise of life Just passed me by It smiled at me And then I asked If you have the time Chorus Come with me Stay with me Play with me Inside my narrow mind Sing with me Sway with me Pray with me Lest I go colorblind

The End of Days Sound the alarm, the changing of the season too extreme, humanity’s the reason present course, headed to extinction Gone are the days long past of youthful joy and innocence replaced by fear and circumstance the time is now to make a stand another trip around the sun requires the hope and understanding of everyone Wreaking havoc all across the land Are spread diseases taking lives at hand Is this just a warning? Or an introduction to the end another trip around the sun requires the hope and understanding of everyone Chorus Melting ice caps, oceans rise violent storms and poisoned skies food supplies in high demand a population out of hand a planet blistered by the sun soon there will be nowhere left to run I think, I feel, I fear, that the end of days are near Mother nature is calling And sending a warning To eradicate the mistakes of everyone Never showing mercy It seems so persistent Just off in the distance lies The point of no return A call to arms The rights that we must defend when leadership divides and fails to protect we are driven to the void Children dying in horrific ways has become the norm upon these darkened days while politicians look the other way, it’s a shame another trip around the sun requires the hope and understanding of everyone Chorus Melting ice caps, oceans rise violent storms and poisoned skies food supplies in high demand a population out of hand a planet blistered by the sun soon there will be nowhere left to run melting ice caps, oceans rise soon there will be nowhere left to run violent storms and poisoned skies soon there will be nowhere left to run soon there will be nowhere left to run I think, I feel, I fear, that the end of days are near

Before We Go 06:36
Before We Go Takes only a moment To burn down the bridges Maybe a lifetime to build All that is needed Is some kind of trigger While reason is thrown to the wind How woefully fragile Our existence If we came here by our choice Well its not often that we discover We are usually drowned in the noise Riding on our ignorance Blinded by our arrogance Time has come to make amends Be guided by our common sense Chorus Before we go, before we say goodbye Can our spirits light up the skies For our visions to come alive Come alive Before we go, before we leave this place Can our spirits light up the face So we can move beyond time and space Time and space If we can see through our cold intentions In everything that we do They only entail self-preservation There is nothing enlightening and new Sooner or later, we stare at the darkness As morning gives way to the night All our devices will fail to deliver When looking for some kind of light Chorus Before we go Let us redefine What it is We wanna leave behind

about

Initially, Timepiece started shortly after the release of Beneath the Clouds We Dream, which neither Roger or I would have expected would take four years to complete. Now we have all heard that good things come to those who wait, but it was never our intention. Managing daily life while navigating through unforeseen pitfalls can really play havoc with one's mind and wellbeing. I think you will find that these songs represent our overall frame of mind and mood during the recording sessions. We were joined by a couple of new players this time around, but to our delight, were able to retain key players from BTCWD that have come to define the PE sound. Ideas are already being thrown around for an EP containing a four-part opus that was written just prior to the start of the BTCWD sessions. Who knows, they are just ideas and if anyone knows me, the brain can get a little whacky sometimes. In any case, we would like to invite you to listen to Timepiece. Feel free to send us an email with comments or questions. We will do our very best to respond in a timely manner. Thank you & Stay Safe - PE
